My journey into equestrian photography grew naturally out of a lifelong connection to horses and the people who dedicate their lives to them. My aunt my mom's side owns Spirit Horse in Canton, Connecticut, and on my father’s side, Holly Hill Farm in Benton Louisiana. Growing up surrounded by horses, riders, trainers, and others in the equine community, I developed a deep appreciation for these remarkable animals and the world built around them. What fascinates me most is the relationship between horse and rider. There is something truly extraordinary about the level of trust, communication, and mutual understanding required to perform as one. To me, a horse becomes an extension of its rider, responding to the slightest shift in weight, the smallest movement, or the most subtle cue. Capturing that connection is what makes equestrian photography so compelling to me. I am also drawn to the sport itself because of its unique inclusivity. Unlike many traditional sports, where competition is often separated by gender, equestrian sport allows men and women to compete alongside one another on equal footing, with success determined by skill, preparation, partnership, and execution. The horse adds another dimension entirely: no two partnerships are exactly alike, and every round tells a different story. Whether it is the quiet concentration before entering the ring, the precision of a perfectly executed movement, or the exhilaration of clearing a challenging course, there is always something meaningful happening beyond the competition itself. Through my photography, I aim to preserve those moments and tell the stories behind them, celebrating not only the athleticism of the horse and rider but also the dedication, trust, and partnership that make the equestrian world so special.
